What happens when you don’t change the oil of your car?

Check-up operations on your car are needed from time to time, but oil change is probably the most important part of routine maintenance to never neglect.

We always hear about the many advantages of changing engine oil recurrently, but do you know the damage that can arise if you don’t stick with the manufacturer recommended schedule of oil change?

  • Accumulation of dirt in the oil: the filter will remove dirt for a while. Eventually the filter will clog. The dirty oil will then bypass the filter and will cause more wear to the engine.
  • Additives in engine oil will wear out: as you know, engine oil is made of two components: base oil & additives such as detergents, dispersants, rust-fighters & friction reducers. Overtime, these additives will wear; as a result the oil does not lubricate as intended.
  • The engine will run louder: when oil loses its lubricating feature, there will be a lot of metal-on-metal grinding; eventually this will cause serious damage to your engine!

This information is not intended to scare you but to remind you of the importance of regular oil change.

To avoid such damage to your car, The Digital Service Book is a great way to remind you of the next oil change as per the manufacturer’s recommendation.

All you need to do is create an account and fill details and the service will remind of the next maintenance due as well as the oil change.
